TOURNAMENT AND RULES

Game format:


  • 4 vs 4 (no goalies).
  • Team size: 4–8 players.
  • Playing time: 1 x 20 min of direct time (in overtime games 5 min overtime   penalties).
  • In the preliminary round, each team will have at least four matches (the best teams advance to the playoffs).

Important to know:


If weather conditions prevent the beanie tournament, the tournament will be played as a "slipper tournament". Players are not insured by the organizer. The age limit for the tournament is 18 years.

 Official rules:


  •  Equipment: Skates, stick and helmet (helmet required throughout the game).
  • Prohibited: Tackling, violence, slapshots and lifting the puck above knee height.
  • Special rules: No defenders allowed in the goalkeeper's area. No offsides. Scoring allowed from anywhere on the field. Substitutions on the fly.
  • Fouls: Puck to the opponent. For major fouls, a penalty shot from the center spot into an empty net.
  • In overtime games, if the game is tied, a 5-minute overtime period will be played. If there is no decision in overtime, penalty shots will be taken from half court.
  • A puck that has gone out of bounds is returned to the game from where it went out. The puck is administered by the opponent of the team that caused the out-of-bounds. The distance to the opponent during the puck's return is 2 meters.

ARRIVAL


Åre is the most diverse, largest and most famous ski resort in Scandinavia, attracting visitors from all over the world. The nearest airport to Åre is in Öresund, about 80 kilometers away. There is also a bus service from the airport to the ski resort.


For those traveling by train, Åre is an excellent destination. Swedish State Railways offers direct train connections to Åre from, for example, Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. An alternative sea route goes via Vaasa to Umeå. From Umeå, the driving distance is approximately 450 km and the driving time is just under six hours.
